Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how CalcCopilot ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you visit calccopilot.com (the "Service"). We care deeply about your privacy, and we've built our calculators to collect as little data as possible. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described below.

The short version

Everything you type into a calculator stays on your device. We don't ask you to register, we don't run personal accounts, and we never see the numbers you enter. That's the heart of how CalcCopilot works.

Your calculator inputs

All of our calculators run locally in your browser using JavaScript. The values you enter — your income, loan amount, savings, weight, or anything else — are processed on your own device and are never transmitted to us and never stored on our servers. In normal use, closing or refreshing the page clears them — the one exception is if you opened a share link that carries your figures in the web address (see below).

A few honest exceptions

Three optional features work slightly differently. None of them send your inputs to us:

• Share links. Some calculators can build a shareable link that encodes your entries in the web address, so anyone you send it to sees the same result. The link is only created if you choose to copy it, and only leaves your device if you share it.
• Tools that fetch live data. A small number of tools need live information to work, so they send the specific thing you type to a third-party provider — for example, the Snow Day Calculator sends the location (ZIP or city) you enter to a weather and mapping service to fetch a forecast. Nothing else is sent.
• Bring-your-own-key. The AI Speed Test lets you paste your own AI API key to run a live test. That key is stored only in your browser (only if you tick “remember”) and is sent only to the AI provider you pick — never to us.

Information collected automatically (log data)

Like almost every website, our hosting provider may automatically record standard technical information whenever you visit. This "log data" can include your device's IP address, browser type and version, the pages you view, the date and time of your visit, and how long you spend on a page. This information is used only to keep the site secure, understand overall traffic patterns, and diagnose technical problems. It is not used to identify you personally.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. We may use cookies, or allow trusted third parties to use them, to help the site function, remember basic preferences, and measure traffic. You can accept or refuse cookies through your browser settings, and you can delete existing cookies at any time. If you disable cookies, most of CalcCopilot will still work, though some features may behave differently.

Analytics

We may use a privacy-conscious analytics tool to understand which calculators are popular and how visitors move through the site. Analytics data is aggregated and statistical in nature — it tells us "how many people used the mortgage calculator today", not who you are.

Advertising

To keep CalcCopilot free to use, we display ads supplied by third-party advertising networks — principally Google AdSense. Google and other third-party vendors use cookies (including the Google advertising cookie) and similar technologies to show ads based on your prior visits to CalcCopilot and to other websites across the internet. Where ad personalisation is turned off, you will still see ads, but they will be less tailored to you. We never pass the figures you type into our calculators to any advertiser — your inputs stay on your device, as described under “Your calculator inputs” above.

Your choices. You can turn off personalised Google ads at any time in your Google Ad Settings, opt out of many other advertising networks at optout.networkadvertising.org and YourAdChoices, and control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, then whenever we display personalised ads we will present a consent message through a Google-certified consent management platform, so you can accept, decline, or manage how your data is used before any such ads are shown. You will be able to revisit and change your choice at any time by reopening that consent message.

Contact form

If you reach out through our Contact Us page or by email, we receive the details you choose to send — such as your name, email address, and message — so that we can reply to you. We use this only to respond to your enquiry and do not add you to any marketing list.

Data security

We value your trust and take reasonable, commercially accepted measures to protect any information we do handle. That said, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Links to other websites

Our pages may contain links to external sites that we do not operate. If you follow a link to a third-party website, we encourage you to review its own privacy policy. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of any site other than CalcCopilot.

Children's privacy

CalcCopilot is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Changes take effect as soon as they are posted, so we encourage you to review this page periodically.
